Ever wonder how long you can keep enjoying the game of golf? Age 70? 80? If you're Jerry Hollingsworth from Broomfield, Colorado—you're still teeing off at age 93.
For the past decade, Jerry has met up weekly with his good friend Frank Cliff, age 85, at Greenway Park Par 3 Golf Course. Together, they play nine holes and share stories along the way.
Originally from Saginaw, Michigan, Jerry began golfing after serving four years in the Air Force back in 1954. He later worked for General Motors and has been enjoying retirement since 1994. To this day, Jerry walks all nine holes to stay fit—and just this week, he shot a solid 38 on the par 27 course.
His memory is sharp, his swing even sharper, and his storytelling unmatched. He vividly recalls tales from the 1950s, and his name graces Greenway Park’s Hole-in-One board seven times from the 1980s. And if that wasn't impressive enough, he notched an eighth ace at Eagle Trace Golf Course.
His advice for young players?
“Keep your right elbow in on your backswing—and play as long as you can.”
So, if you're wondering how long your golfing days might last, just think of Jerry at Greenway Park. Because if he can keep swinging at 93… maybe you can too.
